Mr. and Mrs. James Montgomery Smith III of Orangburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Marley Amelia Smith, to Murray Arthur Baroody Jr., son of Mrs. Eva Tolson Baroody and the late Mr. Murray Arthur Baroody of Orangeburg.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Maurice Fogle Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Montgomery Smith Jr. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and mass communications, public relations, and a minor in hotel, restaurant and tourism management.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Kelly Tolson and the late Mr. Wade Hampton Tolson of Florence and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Murray Baroody. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a minor in marketing. He is the owner and president of Orangeburg Distributors Inc. in Orangeburg.

The wedding will be Feb. 1, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans.
