Patricia Land of Florence and Martin Land of Myrtle Beach announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanna Land, to Larry Joe McCumber II, son of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Joe McCumber of Florence.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Testa of Canastota, N.Y., and Mrs. Erika Land of Little River. She is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. She is employed by Florence School District 1 at Moore Intermediate School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. Walter Vernon Shell of Johnson City, Tenn., and Mr. Elwyn Fleming McCumber of Lake City and the late Mrs. Margaret Catherine McCumber. He is a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College with a degree in machine tool and dye. He is employed by Short Run Stamping.

The wedding will be April 12, 2008, at St. Anthony in Florence.
