Freddie and Helen Howard of Florence announce the engagement of their daughter, LaQuania Shanette Howard, to Patrick Owen Harriott, son of Patricia Dale of Florence and the late Gary Dale of Florence, and Daniel Harriott of Rockford, Ill.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Susie and Alex Cooks of Florence and the late Almeada and Lee Howard of Florence.

She is a graduate of South Florence High School and is a college student.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Kathleen Doherty and the late Owen Doherty of Rockford, Ill., the late Jesse Harriott and the late Dorothy Boyle of Rockford. He is a graduate of West Florence High School and is employed by New World Floors.

The wedding will be Dec. 1, 2007, at St. John Progressive Church of Jesus in Florence.
