Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Reginald Buxton Jr. of Florence announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Rena’ Buxton, to Matthew Clayton Branch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Branch of Cocoa, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carrigan Weatherford of Darlington, Mrs. Jean M. Buxton of Florence and the late Maurice Reginald Buxton Sr. She is a graduate of Liberty University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in family and child development. She is an early interventionist in Rockledge, Fla.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Welling of Merritt Island, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Branch of Cocoa. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He is employed with ASRC Aerospace in Kennedy Space Center, Fla.

The wedding will be Feb. 16, 2008, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence.
