Dana Carol Sampson of Hartsville and James Fred Carraway of Effingham were married at 5 p.m. Dec. 8, 2007, at John Calvin Presbyterian Church.
Bishop Tommy Keith Hicks performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Cleveland Sampson of Hartsville. She is the granddaughter of Ruth Pauline Jackson and the late Frederick Douglas Jackson of Wytheville, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Sampson of Max Meadows, Va.
She is a graduate of Francis Marion University and is employed by Automatic Data Processing.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Leon Carraway of Effingham. He is the grandson of Vernon Elisworth Bishop and the late Maude Ellen Bishop of Florence, and Minnie Lou Carraway and the late Williard Larue Carraway Sr. of Effingham.
He is a graduate of South Florence High School and is employed by Frazier Industrial.
The bride wore a white satin A-line halter gown featuring a split front, beaded lace and a laced-up back. The dress had a chapel-length train. Her veil was a white single layer fingertip veil with a bugle bead edge. She carried a bouquet of red tulips and red gerbera daisies.
Matron of honor was Pamela Sampson Barnett, sister of the bride.
Best man was Terry Leon Carraway, father of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Miss Kate Michele Barlow, Mrs. Pamela Hucks Blackman, Mrs. Shannon Smith Green, Ms. Phyllis Elaine Hilliard, Miss Ashley Nicole Bazen, Miss Krystal Leigh Gause and Mrs. Stephanie Cassidy Henderson.
Honorary bridesmaids were Aimee Beth Garry, Kathryn Nikole Gooden and Marian Pew Squires.
Groomsmen were Mr. Robert Gary Blackman II; Mr. Clifford Obrien Carraway, Mr. Joseph Matthew Carraway, Mr. Justin Thomas Wood, Mr. Christopher Earl Carraway, Mr. Devin Jordan Carraway, all cousins of the groom; and Mr. James Walter Grooms II, brother-in-law of the groom.
Flower girl was Miss Emily Frances Barnett, niece of the bride, and Miss Emily Grace Grooms and Miss Jessica Lynn Grooms, nieces of the groom.
Ring bearer was Gabriel Martin Green.
Special participants in the wedding ceremony were Charlotte Jones Smith, scripture reader; Jamie Duane Moore, pianist; Tommy Graham, trumpeter; Kevin Daniel Burke and Angel Jones Michell, greeters; and Shelia Lynn Outlaw, wedding director.
A reception followed at the Oakdale Country Club in Florence.
After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple will live in Effingham.
