American Legion Day to be held at Florence Civic Center

Florence Civic Center will host American Legion Day to honor members of the American Legion and their families on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. This event is open to all American Legion members, all U.S. military men and women, as well as the general public.
Guest speakers will include Dave Rehbein, National Commander, American Legion; Command Sgt. Maj. Brian M. Stall, CSM Ft. Jackson; Command Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Rick Walden, Veterans Affairs Office, Florence County; and Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Harry Burchstead, Assistant Adjutant General, S.C. National Guard.
Hartsville High School Choir will perform.
This event coincides with “The American Soldier: A Photographic Tribute from the Civil War to Iraq” on display at the Florence Civic Center. Visit this dramatic exhibition after the American Legion Day activities. The exhibit will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
