FLORENCE -- Get ready to trip the light fantastic at ScienceSouth’s first annual Mad Scientist Gala on April 25th from 7 pm – Midnight at the ScienceSouth Pavilion at Freedom Florence. The event is a fundraiser for ScienceSouth’s programs that inspire, educate, and entertain the next generation. All proceeds go to benefit these programs.
“Not only is this event a celebration of our accomplishments, but an effort to have the community come together to invest in the future of our children and our city,” said Sheryl Love, director of marketing and development for ScienceSouth. “The Mad Scientist Gala is such an oxymoron and is going to be a lot of fun for all who come. It is going to be the ‘don’t miss’ event of the year.”
The event will feature music by “The Woodys” and a little “science” from the ScienceSouth staff. Bill Harwell will cater the event, along with ScienceSouth’s “Dr. Don” who will be stirring up some “unique” treats! Tickets are $50 and are now on sale at Health Facilities Credit Union, First Bank (2nd Loop and the new branch at Evans St.), Hobnob Gourmet (Florence and Hartsville locations), Porters Gift Shop, and Bravo! “The dress for the gala is Mad Scientist Costume optional – black tie NOT,” Love said. “It is a casual party but we are encouraging people to dress as Mad Scientists. I know groups of people are getting together and being very creative with their outfits!”
