Caughman recognized for corn yields

BISHOPVILLE — Reggie Caughman of Sumter has been recognized by the S.C. Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association as the atate runner-up in irrigated corn production in 2009, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the organization.

Caughman received a cash award from Pioneer Hybrid International and Monsanto Co. for producing 263.738 bushels of corn per acre using the Pioneer 31 P42 variety.

Caughman is a member of the Lee County Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association.
