BISHOPVILLE — The S.C. Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association recently recognized Michael Atkinson of Bishopville as proprietor of Outstanding Agribusiness in the Pee Dee.
Atkinson, owner of Town and Country Tire Service since 1994, has diversified his business to accommodate the Lee County area agricultural community by making tire service calls to farms. He began the specialized service utilizing a truck to carry the equipment but recently added a trailer equipped with an air compressor, tool box, generator and other equipment needed for tire service on agricultural equipment.
A Future Farmers of America alumnus , Atkinson operates a hay and cattle business in his spare time. He is an active member of the S.C. Cattlemen's Association and the Lee County Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter.
