Myrtle Beach- A Carolina Forest playground called Palmetto Adventure Land designed by students at Carolina Forest and Ocean Bays Elementary Schools is in the making.
"The playground will include a boat, submarine, wave façade, a music area, swings, slides, monkey bars, games, picnic tables, a park and much, much more," says Lisa Bourcier, Horry County's Public Information Officer.
"The playground equipment is designed to provide opportunities for children of all abilities to experience sensory-rich play. All children can play together with their peers, neighbors and family and the playground will be handicap accessible," explains Bourcier.
The playground will be located in the Carolina Forest area accessible from Highway 31 as well as Highway 501 in hopes of attracting people outside of Horry County too.
It will be free to the public available for all families throughout our community.
It will be able to accomodate more than 300 kids at one time.
If you would like to volunteer or sign up a group of volunteers to help build Palmetto Adventure Land call 843-915-5330.
Workers will begin construction on the playground the week of September 21st.
