Dr. Martin F. Carmichael will be the resident physician at the new Aynor Medical Center at 51 11th Street in Aynor, part of Marion Regional Healthcare System.
Carmichael, a board-certified physician and a native of Mullins, obtained his undergraduate degree from Francis Marion University and received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina. He then completed a three-year family practice program conducted through McLeod Regional Medical Center.
For the last 10 years, Carmichael has been associated with Griffin Family Practice, a division of Carolinas Medical Alliance, located in Lamar. During that same period, he has maintained hospital privileges with both Carolinas Hospital System and McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Before then, he was associated with Waccamaw Medical Center in Pawleys Island, with Georgetown Health Group, and with the Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, where he served as chief of medicine and chief of family practice. He maintains affiliations with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians, the South Carolina Medical Association and the Florence County Medical Association.
