The McLeod Resource Center will host Women in Industry Day Monday, Oct. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. to recognize the contributions of professional women in the region and guide them toward healthy choices for themselves and their families. The event will include tours, networking opportunities, screenings and information for busy women on-the-go.
“Women typically make health care decisions for their families,” said Reanna Stoinoff, manager of the McLeod Resource Center. “Between work, family and other community responsibilities, many women put themselves last, and the McLeod Resource Center wants to help make it easier for women to make time for themselves.”
Women will be able to participate in various free and discounted screenings, including blood pressure and cholesterol. Tours of the McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit will be available. Departments within McLeod will be present to provide health information specifically designed to help busy women. The event also will recognize those women who lead health and wellness initiatives within their companies through human resources, nursing or other roles.
“Just as your good health is vital to your role as a mother, wife, friend or daughter, having a healthy workforce is vital to the success of an organization. We work daily with people who are dedicated to providing their employees with opportunities to stay healthy, and we look forward to seeing them at Women in Industry Day,” said Jessica G. Brown, assistant director of McLeod Occupational Health.
“Every opportunity to teach people about the services McLeod can provide is an opportunity to potentially save lives,” she said.
Registration for Women in Industry Day is not required. Everyone who attends is registered for chance to take home a gift certificate to the Spa at the McLeod Health and Fitness Center.
