The S.C. Chapter of the Community Associations Institute is having an educational forum for residents living in condominium or homeowners associations at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation Library, 509 S. Dargan St., Florence.
The presentation will address using the Reserve Study as a road map to strategic funding solutions and keep assessments low. Participants also will learn what the governmental lending regulation requirements will be and how they will affect home buying in community associations.
The presenter, Peter Miller, is a graduate of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech and has more than 30 years experience in the fields of architecture, historic restoration and technical inspections. He has earned the professional designation of Reserve Specialist.
There is no charge to attend, but participants are being asked to bring a donation to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank. Sponsor contributions for the program will benefit the Florence County Library System. Through the institute’s Research Foundation, more than $1,500 in publications pertaining to community associations will be donated to the library.
