»  Comments | Post a Comment

Havertys Furniture in Florence is having a Holiday Design Extravaganza to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank.

The event will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the store, 220 S. Cashua Drive. Customers can learn how to decorate tables, design a room, make a bow and wrap gifts in workshops throughout the store. Refreshments will be served and valet parking will be provided.

Harvest Hope Food Bank’s Pee Dee distribution facility, at 2513 W. Lucas St. in Florence, distributes food throughout eight of the 20 counties served by Harvest Hope: Chesterfield, Clarendon, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Lee, Marion and Marlboro.

“We decided to be a part of the solution and join Harvest Home in this joint venture. Our customers are awesome, and collectively we want to make a difference not only in Florence, but throughout other areas in the Carolinas,” store manager Tony Scott said in a press release.

Barrels will be set up within the store for nonperishable items, and donations will be collected during the Holiday Design Extravaganza. Financial donations also can be made at www.harvesthope.org or mailed to Harvest Hope Food Bank, P.O. Box 451, Columbia, SC 29202.
