Small biz workshops to be held in Bennettsville

The Omicron Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. of Cheraw will collaborate with the Community Development Corporation of Marlboro County and S.C. State University 1890 Extension of Bennettsville to offer free workshops for current and potential small business owners.

The workshops will be June 23-25 at the CDC of Marlboro County conference room at 106 E. Market St., Bennettsville. Each workshop will begin at 6 p.m. and will last until 7:30 p.m.

Instructors will be Dr. Lewis Whitesides, director of 1890 Research and Extension’s Adult Leadership Development, and Deborah Hardison and Adolphus Johnson, county agents for 1890 Extension.

Participants will learn how to prepare a business plan by covering the four main aspects of a business plan: background information, marketing, human resources/operation and finances.
