FLORENCE — Carolinas Hospital System has earned another three-year accreditation from CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, for three of its medical rehabilitation programs for adults, children and adolescents:
- Inpatient rehabilitation programs — hospital
- Outpatient medical rehabilitation programs — multiple service
- Outpatient medical rehabilitation programs — single service
This marks the sixth consecutive time a three-year accreditation has been awarded to Carolinas Hospital System by CARF, which is billed as the nation’s leading accreditation authority in the fields of medical rehabilitation, behavioral health and employment and community support services.
The accreditation results are from findings during CARF’s recent on-site survey.
“CARF is the premiere accrediting body for rehabilitation programs and this achievement means that Carolinas Hospital System meets the highest standards of the best rehabilitation programs in the United States and Canada,” Carolinas Rehabilitation Hospital Administrator Janet Sylvester, a registered nurse, said in a press release. “The commitment of our administration team and the relentless pursuit of the rehabilitative staff to achieve excellence supports our hospital’s mission, vision and values which allows our services to stand above others in the region.”
“This prestigious distinction ranks us with the best outpatient rehabilitation facilities in the country. It is truly an honor to achieve this recognition which is indicative of our staff’s commitment to the quality of care provided to our patients,” Carolinas Hospital System’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center Director Philip Verjans, a physical therapist, said in the release. “Our compassionate and individualized care contributes to our goal to obtain the best outcomes achievable and to exceed our patients’ expectations.”
