First Reliance Bank is celebrating its 10th year of community banking with a free luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the main office, 2170 W. Palmetto St., Florence.
Customers can use a drive-thru lunch pick-up service or they can stop in and eat under the tent. The menu will include burgers, hot dogs or a barbecue sandwich with chips and a drink.
As part of its anniversary celebration, First Reliance also has launched a Stock the Schools program. First Reliance is asking the public to help stock schools with supplies teachers can use in the classroom.
Each year, many of teachers spend hundreds of their own dollars to purchase much-needed supplies for their students and classrooms. Classrooms often need items such as construction paper, colored pencils, pencil pouches, No. 2 Pencils, folders with pockets, loose leaf paper, etc. The public is encouraged to stop by a First Reliance Bank branch and drop off school supplies for the teachers. The promotion will run through Aug. 31.
First Reliance Bank, founded in 1999, has assets of about $696 million, and employs more than 145 associates. The bank serves the Florence, Columbia and Charleston markets. For more information, www.firstreliance.com online.
