James Harrell, the former postmaster of Blenheim, level Executive and Administrative Schedule-13, was promoted to postmaster of Lynchburg, level Executive and Administrative Schedule-16, effective June 23.
Harrell began his postal career in 1993 as a processing and distribution clerk in Hartsville. After becoming a retail sales associate in Hartsville in 2001, he took detailed assignments as acting customer services supervisor for Hartsville. In 2005, he became the postmaster of Blenheim.
Harrell is a Florence native and a graduate of South Florence High School. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and formerly served as a South Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper. He has extensive postal training in retail functions and city and rural delivery. In addition, he has completed two successful Officer-In-Charge assignments in Pamplico and Dillon.
Harrell and his wife, Monica, have two daughters, Jasmine and Jalyse.
