Carolinas Hospital System’s Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department recently donated $1,109 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The donation was made in memory of patients who lost the fight to pulmonary disease and in honor of John Love.
Love entered the pulmonary rehabilitation program in April 2002, having been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a child, to strengthen himself for possible placement on a lung transplant list at Duke University Medical Center.
He received a bilateral lung transplant and returned to Carolinas Hospital System’s rehabilitation program. Love continues to workout three times a week.
