FLORENCE — The Florence offices of A.G. Edwards and Wachovia Securities have combined following the merger of the two companies.
The firms will operate from the Wachovia Securities office at 1801 W. Evans St., beside the A.G. Edwards office at 1807 W. Evans St.
Both offices have been in existence in the Florence area for more than 20 years.
The merger of the two national firms, which was completed in October, brings together two of the largest brokerage operations in the world to form the second-largest retail financial services firm in the United States.
The head of the combined operation in Florence will be Baxter Hahn, who was head of the Wachovia Securities office.
The newly-merged firm includes Don Hunt, who also was with Wachovia Securities.
Joining them will be John Chase and Ginger Allen from the A.G. Edwards office in Florence.
“We are really excited about what the future holds in store for our office and for the members of the Florence community,” Hahn said. “John and Ginger bring key elements to our branch, particularly experience and longevity.”
Chase, a financial advisor and certified financial planner, has been with A.G. Edwards for seven years.
Allen, a registered client associate, has been with A.G. Edwards for 15 years.
Wachovia Securities is one of the nation’s largest full-service retail brokerage firms with $1.1 trillion in client assets. It has more than 18,000 registered representatives in more than 4,000 locations nationwide.
Wachovia Securities is the trade name used by two separate, registered broker-dealers and non-bank affiliates of Wachovia Corp.
